An electric surfboard is a modern watercraft engineered for effortless gliding over water. Unlike traditional surfboards, these boards feature an electric motor with jet propulsion, enabling smooth movement across the water without relying on paddling, wind, currents, or waves. One of the benefits of electric surfboards is their versatility, allowing riders to surf on any body of water while maintaining speed with minimal effort. This makes them an excellent choice for anyone, whether they are a beginner or a seasoned surfer.
Electric surfboards work by using a small battery-operated engine to jet the surfboard forward, giving the rider the necessary forward momentum to stand up on the board and cruise over flat water. Electric surfboards normally generate their propulsion from propellers or jet streams and are powered by rechargeable batteries.
Most riders stand up comfortably in one to two rides. A pro tip is to start at a lower power mode and get comfortable with the sensitivity of the throttle.
Riders must be at least 14 years of age with parental permission to ride. To rent the electric surfboard you will need to be at least 18 years of age. You should also be able to swim.
We recommend wearing a properly fitted bathing suit or wetsuit bottoms. The Free Trial riders must rent our life jackets for $20 when booking their reservation; these life jackets are specifically designed for safety and come with whistles to signal for help if needed. These life jackets are included in the price of the 1-Hour Ride.
A valid state issued photo ID that includes your picture and birthdate is required to rent an electric surfboard. Examples of an ID include a driver's license, passport, or government-issued identification card. If the rider is under the age of 18, their parent/legal guardian will need to provide their valid photo ID as permission for their child to ride and must be present.
All riders/operators will need to bring their Boater's Safety Card or Temporary Boating Certificate if born on or after January 1st, 1988 (see next question below for more information). Everyone must sign a liability waiver/rental agreement to participate.
We also recommend bringing towels, sunscreen, and anything else you need to have fun in the sun!
Yes. A temporary boater's license is required per Florida law for all riders/operators/drivers born on January 1, 1988 or after, or for those who do not currently possess a permanent Boater's Safety Card. This only costs $9.99 through a state website! Click here to get your Temporary Boating Certificate or see the above section titled LIABILITY WAIVER/RENTAL AGREEMENT & BOATING CERTIFICATION.
There's no minimum age to take the exam, but you must be at least 14 years old to drive a personal watercraft. You can study as long as you need and take the exam whenever you're ready. You have unlimited trials. Once passed, you can print the Temporary Certificate immediately!
Yes, there is a weight limit of 264.56 pounds per electric surfboard. We reserve the right to make judgment calls based on passenger weight. This is for your safety and overall enjoyment. Safety is our #1 priority!
Yes! Up to three people can share a board during your 1-hour reservation ride time. You can return to shore to switch riders. Do not carry passengers on your electric surfboard; only one person is allowed on the electric surfboard at all times.
No. Intoxicants are strictly prohibited. For the safety of our guests, service will be refused to anyone under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
If a renter/rider/operator damages an electric surfboard, they are fully responsible (like a rental car). Before you head out for your ride, we review all the rules and essential operating/safety procedures. The renter/rider/operator is responsible for any physical or bodily damage that occurs while the electric surfboard is being operated under the renter’s consent. The electric surfboard will be inspected after each use for damage. Repairs for damages will be at the renter's expense.
If it is determined by E-Go Depot / Power Rentals at the end of the rental period that no damages occurred during your electric surfboard rental reservation, then you will not be charged for any damage fees and any damage deposits will be returned to the customer in a timely manner.
Only operate the electric surfboard in the water. Do not run the electric surfboard up on the beach, this damages the machine. Do not drive the electric surfboard within 500 feet of guest swimming and beach areas, docks, or other vessels. Do not attempt to splash or spray another person.
We require a deposit of $50 to ensure your reservation time and as an incidental. This is refundable after your ride if there are no damages, etc. and will be returned to the customer in a timely manner.
Florida weather forecasts can often be inaccurate, especially regarding precipitation. It might rain in one area while remaining sunny at the lake, even if rain is predicted.
OUR RECOMMENDATION: Book your reservation for your preferred time, and if the weather turns bad, we'll contact you to reschedule for later that day or another day. We constantly monitor the weather to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip!
If it is very bad weather at the time of your rental, you will not be charged a cancellation fee. However, we do not cancel reservations based on a weather forecast unless the conditions at the time of your reservation are deemed unsafe. Please take into account that we will make this decision based on weather around the area of where the ride is supposed to take place.
If it is raining someplace else or the weather is just cloudy, it doesn’t mean that you can cancel your ride. In this case if you do cancel, you will lose your reservation deposit and our regular cancellation policy applies to the reservation.
We will give refunds when appointments are cancelled 48 hours before. We do not issue refunds if your rental time was interrupted, cancelled, or terminated by misuse of machinery or intolerable behavior, intoxicated, impaired, etc. You also may not receive a refund even if the electric surfboard malfunctions during your time.
A 48-hour cancellation policy applies to all reservations; reservations canceled after the 48-hour period is 100% non-refundable.
Please be sure to arrive 30 minutes before your reservation time to find parking, promptly review all of the required documents, and begin the safety and operation training.
You should plan on arriving at least 30 minutes prior to your reservation to be able to park and meet us at the ride location, review all of the required documents, and begin the safety and operation training. If you arrive later that 10 minutes past your scheduled reservation time, you will need to rebook and no refunds will be issued. This will also cut into your ride time, as we will still need to review all of the required documents and go over safety/operational procedures. Please understand that no refunds can be given as we could not book the electric surfboard(s) to another customer during your scheduled time. Any no shows or change in the amount of electric surfboards reserved will NOT be refunded. If you wish to reschedule or cancel your reservation, you must call in advance at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled rental time. If not done within that time frame, no refunds will be issued and there may not be a possibility of rescheduling for another date.
We will be surfing in Victory Point Park in Clermont, FL! There is designated free parking for when you arrive for your reservation.
